Along the road that borders Eagle Beach, a short stroll from La Cabana resort, this alpine chalet restaurant has the feel of an old-fashioned Swiss dining room. In deliberate contrast to the arid scrublands that surround it, the institution is an air-conditioned refuge of thick plaster walls, pinewood panels, and good old Teutonic gemütlichkeit (well-being). Appetizers include avocado filled with crabmeat and shrimp, escargots in herbal garlic butter with shallots, and Dutch pea soup.
