In a rustic stone building in the hamlet of Noord, Buccaneer is one of Aruba's most popular seafood restaurants. The nautical decor, which features hanging fishnets, portholes, and 12 bubbling aquariums chock-full of colorful fish, creates the watery atmosphere of a sunken ship. Another dining area has the feel of an underwater cave and boasts a 7,500-gallon seawater tank. Menu items include shrimp cocktail, escargots in herb-garlic-butter sauce, shrimp in Pernod sauce, and a land-and-sea platter with fish, shrimp, and beef tenderloin. The food is hearty and delicious. The spacious bar area is a great place to linger over a drink or two.
