Thanks to the small fishing fleet that operates from the harbor, fresh seafood is a given in Asilah. Combine this with the town's Spanish influence, and you'll then know why every restaurant specializes in pescado (fish) and seafood paella. The best restaurants are along avenue Moulay al Hassan ben Mehdi and avenue Hassan II, and place Zallaka between them.

There's a string of outdoor restaurants lined up alongside the medina walls on avenue Hassan II. Under the shade of eucalyptus trees, these are the most popular -- and best-value -- eateries in Asilah. There's not much difference between them -- their kitchens are actually over the other side of the narrow road -- but Restaurant Rabie is perhaps the pick of the bunch. Each restaurant's menu is much the same as the next, and includes a long list of daily seafood specials as well as standard Moroccan tagines and couscous. Main courses range from 30dh to 80dh. All the restaurants here operate seasonal hours and are open daily 10am to 11pm during the warmer months and noon to 9pm during winter.
