Frommer's Review
Located at the base of Aspen Mountain, between the gondola and Lift 1A, the St. Regis offers luxurious comfort in a casual but definitely upscale Western atmosphere. Decorated with rich wood, muted earth tones, and original paintings by 19th- and 20th-century artists, the lobby offers cozy seating, a large river-rock fireplace, and magnificent views of Aspen Mountain. Most rooms have views of either the mountains or town, and a few on the ground floor offer views of the flower-filled courtyard. Each unit features "contemporary alpine" decor, with overstuffed leather chairs, leather tabletops, and handsome marble bathrooms; all sport such amenities as bathrobes, Bose CD players, 30-inch flatscreen TVs, and portable phones. The Alpine Floor offers key-access service, a dedicated concierge, and five complimentary food and beverage servings throughout the day. The St. Regis recently added new units and constructed a large spa. In winter, a ski concierge coordinates ski rentals, lift tickets, and lessons.
Facilities:
Restaurant (Mediterranean); bar; outdoor heated pool; fitness center and spa; 2 whirlpools (1 indoor, 1 outdoor); sauna; steam room; concierge; courtesy airport transportation; business center; 24-hr. room service, concierge-level rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
