Frommer's Review
Built on a pier in downtown Astoria, this restaurant isn't just on the waterfront, it's over the waves. Not only are there great views (keep an eye out for sea lions), but the menu includes both comfort food and creative dishes. This place started out as a mobile soup trailer in Alaska, and when the chef/owner and his wife decided to settle down, they picked Astoria. Begin with the soup in a sourdough bread bowl -- it's what got this place started. Beyond soup, try the campfire salmon, blackened New York steak, or the unusual thundermuck tuna (seared tuna dusted with ground coffee).
