The Central Market (fish, meat, vegetables, and more) on Odos Athinas is open Monday through Saturday from about 8am to 6pm. You may not want to take advantage of all of the bargain prices (two sheeps' heads were going for the price of one when we were last here), but this is a great place to buy Greek spices and herbs, cheeses, and sweets--and to see how Athens is fed.
