Near the Airport
An alternative to staying downtown and worrying about parking -- especially if you plan to see only the Inner Harbor attractions -- is a hotel near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport that offers free shuttle service to the North Linthicum Light Rail station. About 15 airport hotels have such shuttles. From North Linthicum, it's a 15-minute ride to the Camden Yards station, which is just 6 blocks from the Inner Harbor. Closest to the airport are the BWI Airport Marriott, 1743 W. Nursery Rd. (tel. 800/456-4000 or 443/577-1036; www.countryinns.com/bwiairport), with an indoor pool; and Four Points by Sheraton BWI Airport, 7032 Elm Rd. (tel. 888/625-5144 or 410/859-3300; www.starwoodhotels.com), with an outdoor pool. The newest are Starwood's two hotels, which opened in 2007: the Sheraton (tel. 443/577-2100) and the Westin (tel. 443/577-2300). Both are at 1110 Old Elkridge Landing Rd.
