Located across the street from the convention center, the Wharf Rat is filled with British, Scottish, and Irish beer paraphernalia; a glass wall in the dining room allows diners to peek in on the beer making. The pub's Oliver Brewery offers a wide variety of ales and stouts, plus an especially good porter. Try it with a sandwich, crab cake, or the traditional English pub fare, such as the Ploughman's lunch or Henry VIII's meatloaf.

A second Wharf Rat is in Fells Point, at 801 S. Ann St.; it's closed on Sundays.
