Frommer's Review
Updated and expanded over the years, this charming inn sits just across Thames Street from the harbor in the heart of the Fells Point Historic District. It spans eight buildings, built between 1790 and 1996, and blends Victorian and Federal-style architecture. Originally a boardinghouse for sailors, later a YMCA, and then a vinegar bottling plant, the inn now features an antiques-filled lobby and library, along with individually decorated guest rooms with Federal-period furnishings. Some units have canopy beds and Jacuzzis, two rooms have balconies, and one suite has a fireplace and Jacuzzi. The loft room is quite different from the rest -- more rustic, with sloping ceilings that tall guests might not like. But from its three dormer windows, the views are among the best in the inn. The Petticoat Tea Room offers lunch, tea, and late-afternoon dining. The hotel also offers Admiral's Tea and ghost tours Tuesday through Sunday, and pub singalongs Wednesday through Saturday.
