Frommer's Review
Although Le Cep is more tranquil and luxurious, L'Hôtel (which opened in 2002) is the second-most desirable hotel in town. Marble, mahogany, teak, and Italian stucco abound. Behind the 19th-century exterior, its guest rooms are tastefully furnished and comfortable, though lacking some of Le Cep's glamour. Each of the accommodations here is individually decorated, with lustrous yellow-and-orange quilts on mahogany beds of royal size. Bathrooms are exotically deluxe, with chrome basins set in teak, toilets screened behind smoked-glass doors, showers the size of studies, black Italian marble floors, king-size beds, and mirrored walls. Although the hotel has no restaurant on-site, it maintains an extraordinarily comprehensive wine cellar that, on advance notice, visitors can examine. Wines inside are for sale, either for consumption within the hotel's bar or for take-away.
