Maison Lameloise
Not only does it have three Michelin stars, but this gourmet eating place, housed in a coaching inn dating from the 15th century, was voted one of the world’s best restaurants (in the top 40) by La Liste (which uses guidebooks, news publications and online reviews to compile a ‘list’ of top restaurants all over the world). Chef Eric Pras has worked in the kitchens of some of France’s greatest chefs and since 2008 he’s been creating exquisite dishes showcasing Burgundian produce: pigeon with plums and Burgundian beer, or Bresse chicken with Cazette (hazelnut power) and roasted chicken skin crumbs with lemon emulsion, for example. The 16 rooms are comfortably furnished but maybe not as luxurious as you’d expect, and a bit overpriced. Nonetheless, if you’re a foodie, this place is one for the bucket list.
