Hilton Boston Financial District ReviewThe meticulously designed Hilton is the closest hotel in this area to the harbor, and the location, except at the height of rush-hour traffic, is surprisingly pleasant -- not terribly busy and quite convenient. The spacious guest rooms have 9 1/2-foot ceilings and sleek, sophisticated decor. The 14-story building is near Faneuil Hall Marketplace but not all that close (by Bostonian standards) to the T. The best units, on the upper floors of the renovated 1928 Art Deco building, afford great views of the harbor and downtown. The Hilton's closest competitor, literally and figuratively, is the Langham, which is less convenient to public transit but has a swimming pool. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
