Anthony's Town House ReviewThis friendly establishment offers comfortable accommodations with shared bathrooms; it's popular with Europeans and budget-minded Americans. Each floor holds three high-ceilinged rooms furnished in Queen Anne or Victorian style and one bathroom with an enclosed shower. Smaller rooms (one per floor) have twin beds; the large front rooms have bay windows. Two family units hold as many as five comfortably. Guests have the use of two refrigerators and a microwave, and the staff supplies a DVD player, VCR, hair dryer, or iron on request. The four-story brownstone guesthouse, a family business since 1944, is 1 mile from Boston's Kenmore Square and about 15 minutes from downtown by T. It's more convenient than the nearby Longwood Inn, which has private bathrooms. There's no smoking on the premises. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
