Longwood Inn ReviewIn a residential area 3 blocks from the Boston border, this three-story guesthouse offers comfortable accommodations at modest rates. The homey style suits the Victorian architecture of the building, which has been extensively renovated over the past 2 years. Guests have use of a full kitchen, a common dining room, and a patio with tables and chairs. The apartment has a private bathroom, kitchen, and balcony. Tennis courts, a running track, and a playground at the school next door are open to the public. The Longwood Medical Area and Coolidge Corner are within easy walking distance, and public transportation is nearby -- not as close as it is to Anthony's Town House, but this property has private bathrooms (one unit's bathroom is across the hall; others are en suite). | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
