Hotel Marlowe Review

Hotel Marlowe offers abundant amenities for both business and leisure travelers, with easy access to the CambridgeSide Galleria mall, the Museum of Science, the Charles River, and MIT. Rooms in the eight-story building were completely renovated in early 2011; they're elegant yet fun, and large enough to hold a work desk and armchair. All have down comforters and three phones (one in the bathroom), and suites have spa tubs. Views are of the river, a small canal, or the landscaped courtyard/driveway off the lobby. The eco-savvy hotel's closest competitor is the Royal Sonesta Hotel , across the street, which has a pool and health club, better river views, and correspondingly higher prices. Tip: Sign up for the (free) frequent-guest program, and the hotel waives the Internet access fee.

Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; bikes; concierge; exercise room; room service

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
