Frommer's Review
This sight is home to three major attractions: Explore At-Bristol (a science center), Wildwalk At-Bristol (billed as a journey from the origins of life to the ends of the Earth), and, finally, an IMAX Theatre. The physicist Paul Davies has hailed the "awesome extravaganza for setting new standards for making science and technology both accessible and fun." The area's only giant-screen IMAX Theatre takes you on a 3-D journey to an International Space Station, its screen rising to a height of four floors with "digital surround sound." Also at the IMAX Theatre you can take a journey through the workings of the human body or be transported from snowcapped peaks to the kaleidoscopic reefs of color and life in the ocean off the Baja California peninsula. The West Country's first true 21st-century science center, Explore features a "hands-on, minds-on" experience of science. At this world-of-tomorrow attraction, you can do everything from enter the eye of a tornado to be the star of your own TV sitcom. At Wildwalk you come face to face with scorpions and walk through a tropical forest with free-flying birds and butterflies. The Open Spaces between the exhibits are full of shops and cafes, with sculptures and beautiful landscaping. It's also a venue for live performances.
