Frommer's Review
At this restaurant, the decor alone is stunning, with stone, crystal, wood, marble, and glass combined to create an unusual, even offbeat restaurant with rich colors, informal corners, and subtle lighting, plus the sweep of a marble staircase. The cuisine almost could be called fusion though it's mainly modern French. The venue is on two floors, with a cavernous bar/lounge downstairs with padded seats where entertainment is provided -- from tango and belly dancing to magicians. The restaurant's "Food Lantern" is unique in Bristol, consisting of a selection of elaborate nibbles served on a two-tier iron slate. For a main course, you are faced with such selections as pork tenderloin roasted with lemon sage, seared filet of sea bass with a white-grape sauce, or filet of lamb in phyllo pastry with a light basil mousse.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
