Using the natural history of the Carpathian Basin, the exhibits here trace human development from the earliest times to the emergence of civilized society. The museum features a large "discovery room" on the first floor, in which all the exhibits are interactive. Participation is both educational and fun. The museum is nicely situated next to Orczy Kert (Orczy Garden), a large park featuring over 100 different species of trees and a small lake. Until after World War II, the park belonged to the Hungarian Military School, which now houses the museum.
