A sparsely decorated New Age-style spot, this restaurant that was once called Gandhi serves interesting vegetarian food in a tranquil, smoke-free environment. The eatery, decorated with paintings of Indian gods and murals, operates on a self-service system where you can choose from different dishes, each at a set price. You can also choose from two daily menu options written on a blackboard. Choices might include stuffed squash with Indian ragout and brown rice; or a potato-pumpkin casserole with garlic Roquefort sauce, steamed cabbage, and spinach soufflé. Or you can simply go for a soup (cream of cauliflower perhaps, or lentil) and the salad bar, though the salads lack variety. Seating is plentiful. There is a browsing bookshelf stocked with New Age and Eastern literature, clothes, and oddities.
