Frommer's Review
A reader and her amusing story lead us to this centrally located coffeehouse-restaurant that bakes divine bread and greets you with the sounds of a classical harp. The restaurant itself is a two-story former bank building that also has a long history as a coffeehouse. It lost that function during World War II. Now a little over a year old, it already feels as if it is steeped in tradition. Our reader described grinning with joy as she began to eat her toasted ewe's cheese salad. She was particularly enchanted by the playfully sassy style of the waiters, describing being inadvertently ooh la la-ed by a fish platter traveling past her table. The waitress escorting it even twirled and did a curtsey with the dish in front of her and her mother before heading off to its destination. We weren't curtsied, but in fact tried that fish platter and were somewhat disappointed at its lack of freshness -- the only part of our meal that didn't completely impress us, though. It is comfortably located, welcoming, and nice for a light meal and a good wine.
