Frommer's Review
In a landlocked country all too impressed by seafood, this is your best bet if you want to get the freshest in town. "It's like eating at home in London . . . it's light and fresh," London-based costume designer John Cowell told us of his visit to this restaurant during the Budapest shoot of the motion-picture Aragon. With seafood imported from Norway three times a week this restaurant that is located adjacent to the Marriott Hotel and the Danube is a favorite among film crews not only for its food but for its service and pleasant ambience. The service is fast, even a tad too fast, as we had to emphasize the fact that we enjoy contemplating an empty plate in order to enjoy each course. The interior is sparsely decorated, and in a unique element in Budapest, has an open kitchen. There are two large aquariums with African cichlids, while a third has exotic saltwater fish with living corals to give the space a lively and colorful vibe. We started our meal with a Bergen fish soup, and a cream soup with salmon, cod, and shrimp. Our main dish was a sumptuous mega platter of seafood that included salmon, scallops, swordfish, mussels, cod, prawns, and tuna. Don't forget dessert, in our case a chocolate delight served with a passion-fruit coulis and vanilla ice cream.
