Frommer's Review
Though the Hotel Budapest is still a metallic-looking 1960s Socialist-style cylinder on the outside, the hotel's refurbished interiors sport newly upholstered furniture, new carpeting, and bright white paint. The result is a clean modern look, in as much as this kind of place can be. The hotel soars above the neighborhood and offers numerous views; each room boasts a full wall of windows. Your room may overlook the Danube or face up into the hills of Buda. Request a room on a high floor. The vista over the city from the roof garden is simply breathtaking at night. The hotel is within walking distance of Moszkva tér, Buda's central transportation hub, and just across the street from the base of the cogwheel railway, which takes you straight up into the Buda Hills. Locals love to hate the Hotel Budapest, and while it's somewhat of a blight on the landscape, it's also an intriguing place.
