Frommer's Review
Once the neo-Renaissance home of the famous Hungarian Eszterházy family, built at the turn of the 20th Century, this small Mellow Mood-owned hotel is ideal for the traveler with a short amount of time in the city. Located 1 short block from Heroes' Square, it provides ready access to the Museum of Fine Arts, City Park, Szechányi thermals, and other museums, not to mention the Yellow metro line. The rooms border on dowdy, not modernized, but plain, simple, and fastidiously clean; they are a little larger than a monk's quarters. If you are impressed with history, this historical place is not a bad place to lay your head at night. I found it perfectly comfortable considering the amount of time I normally spend in a hotel room. If you are interested in a beautiful view, ask for any of these rooms: 210, 211, 212, 310, 311, or 312 for a spectacular panorama of Heroes' Square when it is lit up at night, but take into consideration there isn't a lift and the second floor is really the third floor.
Facilities:
Laundry service (next day); nonsmoking rooms; snacks and drinks sold in lobby

| Frommer's Budapest & the Best of Hungary, 7th Edition | |
| 0 stars | Frommer's Recommended | |
| 1 stars | Frommer's Highly Recommended | |
| 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
