Frommer's Review
Set back in a courtyard of Váci u. 65 (a teapot-shaped sign points the way), this cozy little shop, with up to 50 different bulk teas available, is a haven for serious tea drinkers, mainly local students and intellectuals. A wall map indicates labels from the various teas and their places of origin. Information about the harvest of the different teas is also posted -- in five languages. While the shop has recently changed management, the visionary founder, Zoltán Buzady, still shares ownership in the business and will hopefully continue to ensure the exceptional quality of its product. The shop continues to expand, and now features several unique tearooms. In summer, guests are seated in the courtyard, at makeshift tables made of the barrels in which the tea is shipped. Prices range from 600 Ft to 1,800 Ft ($2.90-$8.70) per pot for several infusions. Open Monday through Saturday noon to 9pm, Sunday 3 to 8pm.
