The home of the Buffalo wing, Buffalo is renowned for creating or passionately embracing somewhat suspect food items (watch for a popular homegrown concoction called Beef on Weck, roast beef on a salty kummelweck roll). Fortunately, amid the unhealthy oddities, you'll also find that some of the renovations downtown have brought about some excellent, upscale restaurants.
