Frommer's Review
Step inside from the alleyway and you'll find a quiet, brick-wall-lined, candlelit hideaway that every local will recommended as historic Buffalo's finest. The handwritten menu boasts a suffusion of flavors and a wealth of ingredients. The grilled lamb rib chops, for example, come with an orzo, toasted almond, and caramelized onion salad and apple-pear compote. The equally complex appetizers shine, too, with offerings like potato gnocchi topped with fresh tomato sauce with mushrooms, peas, hot peppers, and fresh mozzarella. Full dinners served until 3am every night make it ideal for late-night gourmet diners. Bonus: There's an outdoor patio.
