Pearl Street Grill & Brewery

With an enormous tap heralding the entrance from three stories up, you can see Pearl Street from blocks away. Inside is a scene to match: leaded windows, exposed brick, wood beams, and a matrix of ceiling fans impossibly interconnected by a three-tiered belt system. Sure, the warehouse-cum-microbrewery is a stereotype by now, but these four floors of beer, food, and pool do it well, attracting college kids and families alike. The menu has the usual suspects -- burgers, pizza, pasta -- along with a handful of selections made with their own brews, such as beer braised pot roast and "beef streetganoff." Their signature beer is the excellent Trainwreck amber, but with a selection ranging from wheat to stout, you'll have plenty of choices. Brewery tours are also available.
