Charlie the Butcher's Kitchen ReviewBeef on Weck is one of those "only in Buffalo" creations, and Charlie has made it into a science. The basic sandwich consists of sliced, rare roast beef on a salty German Kaiser roll (the weck; Kummelweck, that is), and of course Charlie insists on dipping the top of the roll in au jus and adding horseradish. He's set up in the food court of the gorgeous Ellicott building downtown; grab a sandwich and enjoy the Italian mosaic floors and the skylight.
