A Carnegie library from 1910 to 1974 in tiny Olean, this gorgeous brick building now houses an excellent restaurant. Fortunately, it has held onto its book-loving roots without getting old and musty. The interior is decorated with ornate woodwork and friezes and laden with antiques. The menu, presented as -- what else? -- a chapter in a book, offers more than 550 wines and a wealth of food choices, everything from pastas to jumbo lobster tail or a rack of lamb with a Dijon-mustard-and-garlic glaze.
