Frommer's Review
With a prime downtown location right on Main Street, the dramatic 395-room Hyatt soars into the sky and above its competition as the most elegant of the downtown chains. A former office building, it's now a French Renaissance-style structure -- with its spectacular glass-topped lobby and sizable rooms. Since it's connected to the convention center, it attracts a business-focused clientele, but its location makes it a great option for the leisure traveler, too. Rooms, though uniformly decorated, aren't cookie-cutter at all, since designers had to transform them from variously shaped offices. Comfy and spacious, the bedrooms have a brand-new feel to them, and at press time the hotel had just begun a $6-million renovation. Grab one above the eighth floor facing Lake Erie and you'll get the added bonus of a fantastic view.
