Frommer's Review
Named for Superman alter-ego Clark Kent's day-job newspaper (I think), this popular spot is often brimming with college students and downtown workers on evenings and weekends. It's so cutting-edge that it's hard to believe it's been here for more than 20 years. The mild mayhem adds to the charm, enhancing an eclectic, fun menu -- and the food is better prepared than you might expect from a place that takes its cues from a pub (and probably has college students moonlighting as sous chefs). Look for such items as a blackened grouper sandwich, peach-glazed grilled salmon, pan-seared duck breast in plum-ginger sauce, cold noodles in spicy Szechwan sauce, and a mustard-swathed pork steak. Desserts are equally creative and good-tasting. Don't forget to check the specialty martini menu.
