This boisterous, fun place right on the pedestrian mall has a retro old-world flair, with washed walls, a marble bar, crystal chandeliers, and oversized posters. The inventive, large menu here features regional foods prepared with a continental touch. An upscale brunch is served on Saturday and Sunday, with duck tacos, gravlax flatbread, and the like; lunch runs to good sandwiches. But dinner is where things really get cranked up: Items change seasonally, and you might find roasted duck à l'Orange, free-range veal scaloppini in a grapefruit sauce, salade Nicoise, a rhubarb-y rack of pork, and a marinated lamb loin.
