Frommer's Review
This impressive and historic inn is housed in a splendid Queen Anne-style brick mansion a few minutes' walk from the university. The inn has soaring first-floor ceilings, cherry woodwork, and a beautiful window-lined breakfast room. The home was built in 1881 by a local bank president, and once served as a retirement home before it became an inn. Four-poster beds and rather frilly decor are the norms. Among the best units are no. 12, which boasts a small sitting area and views of the lake, and spacious no. 4, with a sizable bathroom and more lake views; all are decorated with genuine and reproduction antiques, and some have down comforters and fireplaces. Walk down the marble staircase to admire the solarium, lawns, and English gardens.
