Carnac has two shopping areas: one along the beachfront called Carnac-Plage, and the other about 2.5km (1 1/2 miles) inland in Carnac proper. Along the beach you'll find souvenir shops; venture down avenue des Druids and avenue de l'Atlantique for more specialized galleries and antiques stores. Other good areas are rue St-Cornély and place de l'Eglise, with a host of clothing and shoe stores, antiques dealers, and jewelers.
Opale, 10 rue St-Cornély (tel. 02-97-52-28-31), sells unique creations of jewelry combining silver and semiprecious and precious stones, as well as mother-of-pearl. Go to Clémentine, avenue de l'Atlantique (tel. 02-97-52-96-34), if you're in the market for quality household linens, porcelain, Breton fabric, and dishware.
