Planning a trip to Carnac

Arriving: Driving is the most convenient way to get to Carnac. From Pont-Aven, travel southeast along N165, passing through Hennebont. At the intersection with D768, continue south along the signposted road to Carnac. From Nantes, take N165 northwest to Auray and then D768.

Links to Carnac by public transport are inconvenient, as there’s no railway station. Train travelers leave the SNCF network at either Quiberon or Auray and take a bus into town. An additional option, available between June and August only, is to get off the train at Plouharnel-Carnac station, 3km (1 3/4 miles) from Carnac. Visitor Information: The Office de Tourisme is at 74 av. des Druides (www.ot-carnac.fr; tel. 02-97-52-13-52).
