RestaurantsIn the Florentine Chianti Beside the restaurants listed, don't miss the hearty meals at Hotel Giovanni da Verrazzano. Also in Greve, the Enoteca Bar Gallo Nero, Via C. Battisti 9 (tel. 055-853-734), is a good pizza and pasta place (order the affettati misti appetizer) popular with locals and families -- and cheaper than most Chianti spots. It's open Friday through Wednesday from noon to 10pm (closed Jan 6-31). In the Sienese Chianti Cheap Eats! -- Chianti is no place to skimp on meals, but at the Bar Di Mori (tel. 0577-328-038) in the central Piazza Quercia, you don't feel like you're cheating yourself with a pici all'anatra (homemade pasta with duck) for 4.70€. Salads cost 1€. It's a local bar feeding the everyday working man, but more than qualified for your daily bread.
