Palazzo Leopoldo

One of the grandest palaces in Radda in Chianti dates to the 15th century and was redone as a noble residence in the 18th century. Not much has changed since then. Guest rooms open off vaulted salons and have chunky beams, colorful frescoes, and comfy traditional furnishings to offer a satisfyingly historic, slightly regal ambience. Breakfast is served in the 18th-century kitchens, while a sunny terrace overlooks the nearby hills. A hedonistic spa is tucked beneath pleasant but slightly less atmospheric lodgings in an adjoining house.
