Adventures Out West, 1680 S. 21st St.(tel. 800/755-0935; www.advoutwest.com), offers a wide range of tours in the Colorado Springs area, including guided hikes, jeep and van tours of the city and surrounding mountains, and Segway tours of Garden of the Gods. Day tours are typically $75 to $150 per person, and more for some activities.

A free downtown walking tour brochure, with a map and descriptions of more than 30 historic buildings, is available at the Colorado Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as at local businesses. Another free brochure shows the location of more than a dozen historic buildings and lists shops, galleries, and other businesses in Old Colorado City. The Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau (see "Planning a Trip,") distributes a free visitor's guide with a self-guided walking-tour map of the town's historic mineral springs, as well as information on where to find a variety of outdoor sculptures.
