The Historic Pioneer Guest Cabins

Located 10 minutes from the Crested Butte ski area, the Pioneer is a great escape for those seeking a rustic (but not too rustic) log cabin in the woods. Although these historic cabins lack TVs and in-room phones, they have modern bathrooms (with showers only), fully equipped kitchens, handmade wood furniture, and cozy down comforters on the beds. In addition to propane heaters, the cabins have either fireplaces or wood-burning stoves, and outside each is a fire pit and picnic table. With two beds apiece, the four small cabins were built as part of a historic ski resort that closed in the early 1950s. The four larger cabins, built in the late 1960s and early 1970s, have three beds and more of a modern feel than the historic cabins. Located in the Gunnison National Forest, the cabins provide easy access to a full slate of outdoor adventures. All units are nonsmoking.
