Frommer's Review
In the Kurá Hulanda compound , this world-class restaurant is adjacent to the Indian Marble Garden, all part of the restored 18th-century village of Otrobanda. This is the best of the many restaurants located within this shopping and dining compound. The restaurant is named for the collection of astrolabes on display nearby. The chefs here create a finely honed modern Continental cuisine, which is served both indoors and outdoors on a terrace under a mammoth ficus tree.
Start with the lump-crab cake with a caper rémoulade sauce or the pumpkin-cream soup with ground nutmeg. The best main dishes include a pan-fried filet of pompano in a lemon-butter sauce with red polenta, and green seafood stew, the kettle brimming with Caribbean lobster, shrimp, black mussels, and the fresh catch of the day. The poached sea bass and sautéed salmon served with lentil ragout and a pumpkin-flavored pesto is a marvelous combination of flavors and textures.
