Frommer's Review
This is the most glamorous and most prominent hotel on the island, set beside the largest and most popular beach on Curaçao. It's 10 minutes from both the airport and Willemstad. The hotel is a cluster of three-story buildings whose distinctive shape and ocher color were adapted from traditional Dutch colonial architecture. The open-sided lobby was designed for optimum views of the beach and the hotel's many fountains. Scattered throughout the property are unusual, often monumental, artworks by local and international artists, and a collection of unfussy, overstuffed furniture.
Most of the colorful rooms have a view of the ocean and one king-size or two double beds, plus a spacious bathroom with a combination tub/shower.
Although never rising to any great imagination or flair, the food here is consistently good, with quality ingredients. There's also a big casino.
Facilities: 4 restaurants; 2 bars; outdoor pool; casino; Jacuzzi; sauna; diving; jet skis; kayaks; sailing; snorkeling; water-skiing; children's programs; car rental; business center; room service; massage; babysitting; laundry service; nonsmoking rooms; rooms for those w/limited mobility

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
