Ballymaloe House

Combining a Georgian farmhouse facade with the tower of a 14th-century castle, this ivy-covered enclave of hospitality run by the Allen family is on a working farm, complete with grazing sheep and cows. Ballymaloe is about 23km (14 miles) southeast of Cork City, less than 3km (2 miles) from Ballycotton Bay. Guest rooms are furnished in informal, comfortable, even rather rustic style.
