This is Ferrara's most elegant B&B, installed in a former 17th-century monastery near the Castello d'Estense. Your host is Filippo Orlandini, who has turned the space into an accommodating and stylish hostelry. His most frequent guests are actors and musicians from the local theater who prefer this place to all others in town. Rooms are spacious and fashionably decorated, often with antiques and with comfortable beds and neatly tiled bathrooms. The best unit has a kitchenette, but those accommodations are usually rented to those seeking longer stays. In fair weather breakfast is served in the garden in back of this medieval palazzo. Reserve well in advance, because this is a very preferred address.
