Planning a TripGetting There Take bus no. 7 from Florence, which, after a scenic 25-minute ride through the greenery above Florence, lets you off in the town's main square, Piazza Mino. Visitor Information The tourist office is at Piazza Mino 36-37, 50014 Fiesole (tel. 055-598-720; fax 055-598-822; www.comune.fiesole.fi.it; Mon-Sat 8:30am-1:30pm). If the office is closed, as it sometimes is from October to Easter, there's another small office (tel. 055-596-1256) at Via Portigiani 3/5. Festivals & Markets Fiesole's biggest event is cultural: 2 months of music, ballet, film, and theater from late June to August called the Estate Fiesolana. A pleasant way to cool off from the Florentine heat, this festival allows you to sit back under the stars in the restored 1st-century-A.D. Roman theater and listen to Mozart and Verdi. You can get information and tickets in Florence at Box Office or at the Roman Theater itself after 4:30pm the day of the show. The Festa di San Romolo on July 6 brings processions and partying all day and fireworks in the evening. Call tel. 055-59-611 for info. There's a market every Saturday in Piazza Mino.
