Even "Johnny Rebs" are allowed to check in here, although this hotel was named in honor of John Ericsson, who helped defeat the Confederates. Set near the center of town, close to the junction of highways 64 and 65, this low-slung, two-story, white-walled hotel dates from 1974, when it was designed to cater to both roadside traffic and corporate conventions. Inside you'll find a tavern-style restaurant, wood-floored bedrooms with double-glazed windows, and decor typical of middle-bracket hotels. Bedrooms, although rather "motel grade," are comfortable and fine for an overnight stopover.
