Frommer's Review
Always crowded and always good, the Guelfa has lots of paintings hanging on its walls and a random trattoria decor -- pendulous gourds, wine bottles, and an old oxen yoke rule over the tightly packed, noisy tables. The kitchen is very traditional, offering spaghetti alla rustica (in a cheesy, creamy tomato sauce) and risotto ai quattro formaggi (a gooey rice dish made with four cheeses) as proud primi. For a main course, you can go light with the pinzimonio di verdure crude (a selection of seasonally fresh raw veggies with oil to dip them in) or indulge your taste buds with the petti di pollo alla Guelfa (a chicken breast rolled around a stuffing of prosciutto, cheese, and truffled cream served with a side of olive oil-drenched oven-roasted potatoes).
