Frommer's Review
This converted farmhouse is the countryside restaurant of choice for Florentines wishing to escape the city heat on a summer Sunday afternoon. You can enjoy warm-weather lunches on the tree-shaded stone terrace with a bucolic view. In cooler weather, you can dine inside several large rustic rooms with haphazard paintings scattered on the walls. The antipasto caldo of varied crostini and fried polenta is a good way to kick off a meal, followed by a misto della casa (for two only) that gives you a sampling of primi. This may include penne strascicate (stubby pasta in cream sauce and tomato ragù) or riso allo spezzacamino (rice with beans and black cabbage). The best secondo is the pollastro al mattone (chicken roasted under a brick with pepper) or the lombatina di vitello alla griglia (grilled veal chop).
