Frommer's Review
The luxe category hit Fort Lauderdale beach with this Starwood Luxury Hotel property. Sitting on 23 miles of white sand, The Atlantic is a study in minimal modernity -- soothing colors and comfortable, stylish decor. Besides the usual high-tech amenities found in all rooms of this category -- flatscreen TVs, wireless Internet -- The Atlantic boasts something other hotels do not: a star chef hailing from New York City's Tribeca Grill and a five-star restaurant. Trina Restaurant and Lounge comes to Fort Lauderdale thanks to celebrated restaurateurs Don Pintabona, former executive chef of Tribeca Grill, and Nick Mautone, former managing partner of Gramercy Tavern. The 6,000-square-foot spa isn't too shabby, either. Service is usually stellar, though we've had some complaints of a bit of attitude, but for some die-hard New Yorkers who stay here, that's a plus!
Facilities:
2 restaurants; bar; outdoor heated pool; spa; watersports equipment rental (through concierge); bike rental (through concierge); concierge; business center; salon; 24-hr. room service; laundry service; dry cleaning

| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
