Courtyard by Marriott Fredericksburg Historic District ReviewAcross Charlotte Street from the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, this 4-story hotel opened in 2009 on the site of the Indian Queen Tavern, which operated between 1771 and 1832. While the brick building seems at home in the Historic District, the decor inside is modern and high tech, beginning with a row of computer work stations just off the atrium lobby. As at all Courtyards, the spacious guest quarters are equipped for doing business, with desks and ergonomic chairs. A bistro-style restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while a convenience outlet is open 24 hours for coffee and snacks. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
