In lieu of any real nightlife, locals head for a local Stube, or beer hall, for a "night on the town." Most of these drinking places are within hotels, and two of the best are at the previously recommended Hotel Bären and the Jägerstüble , the latter serving the largest mugs of beer in town. In winter, you can find beer drinkers gathered around the old tile stove of the Ratskeller, Marktplatz 8 (tel. 07441/952805). If you like this place, you can opt to order platters of traditional Swabian dishes, including Zwiebelrostbraten (onion-flavored roast beef), served with sauerkraut, that seem to go especially well with the beer.
